Scrum Roles
There are three primary roles in the scrum framework:
Product Owners
Scrum Masters
The Development Team
Scrum Product Owners
These are the champions for their product. They bring the product vision to life.
A dedicated product owner is responsible for making all decisions on any software features that should be developed.
They focus on understanding market requirements and the customer’s goals.
Their main role in a scrum team is to prioritise the work that the development team will do.
Scrum Masters
They are the experts on scrum within the team.
They coach the developers, product owners and the business on the process.
They are constantly looking to fine tune the practise and are servant leaders.
The Development Team
These are the developers and designers who work daily to achieve the sprint goals.
Team members are a 100% dedicated to the project, reducing multi-tasking and creating a high level of focus.
To further help with focus, team co-location is recommended to reduce inefficiencies in communication.
They collaborate with the product owners to forecast how much work they can complete in each sprint.
They also figure out how to improve development practises as they understand what works best.
These people are the ones who will keep the practise running in the right direction.
